One of the first tasks that the team needs to accomplish before reef building can begin is transporting all of the construction supplies from an offsite staging area to the new reef site. The supplies include oyster mats, concrete sprinkler donuts, and meter-long oyster bags. Once the supplies are moved to the reef site, live oysters will need to be placed inside some of the bags by hand. Immediately afterwards, the mats and bags are arranged in the lagoon according to our building permits and anchored with the donuts. All of these activities take place outdoors, by or in the water, and will require moderate to intense physical labor.
