Hoku Hawaiian Shave Ice, LLC
Welcome to Hoku Hawaiian Shave Ice!
Hoku (Ho-Koo) a Hawaiian word which means “star”. Hawaiians used the stars to navigate the seas. Stars are associated with different meanings such as finding your way in life or being a reward. We at Hoku Hawaiian Shave Ice are rooted from Hawai’i, an ohana (family) owned business charting a path to share aloha treats from the Hawaiian Islands.
Keone and Jess, passionate about pursing a venture with meaning, purpose and fun, started Hoku Hawaiian Shave Ice. Keone is a native Hawaiian with roots in Hawai’i, the Big Island and O’ahu. Hawaiian culture is deeply rooted. Time with ohana and friends, mixed with food cultivated memories of fun and relaxation. Especially spending time at the beach enjoying cold and refreshing Hawaiian Shave Ice.
Many journeys in military lifestyle, Keone and Jess found home in Florida. Spending time at the beach, thoughts of shave ice rang back. When it came time to retire from the military and chart a new path, Keone and Jess ventured to bring a little aloha from Hawai’i with Hawaiian Style Shave Ice. Being fitness and wellness minded, they wanted to promote syrups without artificial flavors or dyes and to incorporate fresh fruit. This led to offering a Hoku menu line of Shave Ice.
