Space Coast Center for Independent Living was originally founded in 1972 to help persons with disabilities lead independent lives within their homes and communities.
SCCIL provides services and programs to assist persons with disabilities gain and keep independence, to include: Advocacy, Independent Living Skills Training, Information and Referral, Peer Support and Transition Services (from nursing homes/youth transitioning from school to the workforce).
Additional services provided by SCCIL include: Low Cost Transportation in handicapped accessible vans, free amplified FTRI telephones for those with hearing loss and an equipment loan closet which lends items such as wheelchairs, walkers, shower chairs and various medical equipment to those who may not be able to afford to purchase the needed items.
Our services are not based on income or insurance requirements.
